In both cases the minus is cancelling it out

If you have $\log(10) = 1.5d$, this becomes $\frac{\log(10)}{1.5}=d$

If you have $log(10) = 0.1d$, this becomes $10\log(10) = d$

if you have $log(10)=\frac{d}{2}$, this becomes $2\log(10)=d$
